Pilates Munich

Deep strength, better posture, and a body that feels like yours. Reformer Pilates for women, in two Munich studios.

REFORMER CLASSES

Reformer Pilates in Munich: yes, the hype is real.

Reformer Pilates is everywhere right now, and honestly, it earned it. This is not a trend that came out of nowhere. It’s a hundred-year-old method that the rest of the world finally caught up with.

Women come into our Munich studios curious. They stay because after three or four Reformer classes they notice something they can’t quite explain yet. Standing taller. Sleeping better. That nagging thing in the lower back going quiet. It creeps up on you.

What Reformer Pilates does for your body

Reformer Pilates reaches the muscles a normal workout never touches. The deep core, the pelvic floor, the tiny stabilisers around your spine and hips. These are the ones that decide whether you feel held together at the end of a long day or completely wrecked. And because the springs carry part of your weight, there’s almost no impact. Nothing pounding through your knees, nothing jarring your back. That’s why Reformer Pilates works when you’re pregnant, six weeks postpartum, on day one of your period, in perimenopause, or sixty-five and starting from scratch. It’s slow work. It’s also the kind of training that’s still serving you in twenty years.

The benefits of Reformer Pilates

How it feels in the room

Warm light, good music, and a teacher who knows your name by the second class. Nobody is watching you. Everyone is busy with their own springs. You’ll hear someone laugh when her leg starts shaking, and someone exhale very loudly on the last rep. Two women who came separately will leave together and get coffee. That’s the part that doesn’t fit in a class description, and it’s the reason women keep coming back.

Your first Reformer class

Book any Reformer Pilates class and tell us it’s your first. Arrive ten minutes early so your teacher can show you the machine and set your springs before we start. Wear leggings and bring grip socks. If you forget them, we sell a pair at the studio for 18€. Want to see the space before you book? Come for a free studio tour. No pressure, no commitment, just a look around and a proper answer to whatever you’re wondering about.
REFORMER PILATES MUNICH - HERSPACE

Our Reformer Pilates classes in Munich

We have more than one way in. Two of them we built ourselves.

Reformer Pilates

The classic.

Core stability, alignment, controlled movement, guided the whole way through.

If you’re new, this is where you start.

ReforMat · HERSPACE Signature

The Reformer as one part of a bigger workout. Most of it happens on the mat, and the machine comes in as a training tool. HIIT, functional training and Pilates in one class. Because you’re only on the Reformer for part of the session, it costs fewer credits, which makes it a really good first taste if you’re curious.

GESCHICHTE

Where the Reformer comes from

Joseph Pilates built the first version of this machine during the First World War, using bed springs, while working with patients who couldn’t get up. The idea was simple. Give the body enough support to move, and it will start healing itself.

That’s still the whole principle behind Reformer Pilates. The springs don’t make it easier. They make it possible, and then they make it harder, exactly when you’re ready.

Later the method landed in dance studios in New York, where it stayed for decades as the best-kept secret of women who needed their bodies to work for a living. Now it’s on our schedule in Munich, and you don’t have to be a dancer to get it.

WHO IT’S FOR

Reformer Pilates munich for beginners and everyone else

You. Whether you’ve never touched a Reformer or you’ve been on one for ten years.

The springs adapt. The teacher adapts. That’s the entire beauty of this machine, and it’s why a complete beginner and someone with a decade of practice can be in the same room and both get exactly what they need.

Reformer Pilates is especially good if you sit at a desk all day, if your back complains, if you’re coming back after a break, a birth or an injury, or if you want to get stronger without high-impact training.

You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need to be fit first. Everyone in that room started somewhere, usually with no idea what a footbar was.

WE TEACH IN ENGLISH

As soon as one woman in the room doesn’t speak German, the class runs in English. No asking, no awkwardness, no one sitting there guessing what’s happening.

A lot of women who train with us moved to Munich from somewhere else. This is one of the small things that makes HERSPACE easy to walk into.

Reformer Pilates Munich: good to know

Do I need any experience with Reformer Pilates?

No. Most women in our classes have never been on a Reformer before. Tell your teacher and she’ll take you through it.

Reformer Pilates or ReforMat. Both work with zero experience.

Grip socks. Everything else is here. Towels, water, showers, and a café for afterwards.

German by default, and English as soon as one participant doesn’t speak German. You never have to ask for it.

Yes. We have formats made for both, and Bring Your Baby Reformer if you’d rather not organise childcare. Please tell your teacher which trimester you’re in or how long ago you gave birth.

Twice a week is where most women start noticing a real difference. Once a week still does plenty.

Some classes, yes. Availability changes, so check the current schedule in the app.

Yes, at Königsplatz and at Pasing.

Same method, different tool. Mat Pilates uses your own bodyweight, Reformer Pilates uses springs that support and resist you. Most women end up doing both.
